PyPI subpoenaed

The Python Software Foundation says it received three subpoenas for data on three users on PyPI, the package repository for the Python programming language. All three subpoenas were issued by the US Department of Justice and were sent in March and April of this year. The Foundation says that after consulting with its legal team, it honored the requests and shared details about five PyPI accounts with US authorities. Shared information included names, mail and email addresses, connection details, IP addresses, and telephone numbers, but also the IP addresses of those who downloaded packages from the five users.
